🔐 Signing Up — What to Know
CasterClub is built for broadcasters, by broadcasters — and built to respect you. Here's exactly what we ask for, what we protect, and why. No dark patterns, no data harvesting, no forcing your real identity into the open.
🎙️ Use Your Stage Name — Not Your Legal Name
Your on-air identity is yours to choose
Pick your DJ handle, studio name, or station brand as your username and display name. You are never required to use your real name. This isn't a "real identity" social network — we think mandating legal names is exactly how scammers, data brokers, and stalkers build profiles on people.
Broadcasting is a craft with a long tradition of stage names. Protect your private identity and go by whatever your audience knows you as.
📧 Why We Need a Working Email
One thing we genuinely require
We send a one-time passcode (OTP) to verify you're a real person and not a bot farm. You just need to be able to check that inbox — for the OTP, for account recovery, and for the occasional important notice.
Prefer a dedicated address for your station? Perfect — a mailbox tied to your stage name works great. We don't sell your email, we don't rent it, and we don't blast you with marketing.
🗄️ We Collect Almost Nothing
Data minimization by design
Signup is free — no credit card, ever, at registration. We don't ask for your address, phone, birthday, or government ID. A username, an email, and a password is the whole story.
The less we hold, the less there is to ever leak. That's the point.
🛡️ PCI-Grade Protection (Even Without Cards)
We hold ourselves to payment-industry standards
Even though we don't process credit cards or collect sensitive PII, we protect your account to PCI-DSS-level standards:
- Encrypted in transit — every page is served over TLS/HTTPS.
- Hashed at rest — passwords are stored with Argon2id, never in plain text. We can't see your password.
- Least-privilege access and audit logging on the backend.
🧱 What "BackDraft" Is (Our WAF)
A guard dog in front of the site
We run our own Web Application Firewall (WAF) called Mcaster1BackDraft. A WAF is a security layer that sits in front of the website and inspects every request before it reaches the app — think of it as a bouncer that knows what attacks look like.
BackDraft blocks known bots and attackers, rate-limits abuse, and auto-bans IP addresses that hammer our signup or probe for weaknesses. Combined with OTP verification, disposable-email blocking, and bot-behavior detection, it keeps the fake accounts and script kiddies out — so real broadcasters like you get a clean, safe platform.
